HÀ NỘI – Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc has directed each ministry and locality to devise a detailed plan to fulfill targets, laying out specific individual and unit responsibilities.

The PM made the request during the monthly government meeting in Hà Nội yesterday, which discussed the socio-economic performance in April and the first four months of this year as well as specific measures to ensure that economic growth targets for the remaining quarters and the whole year are met.

The government is resolved to achieve  六. 七 per cent economic growth this year, he said.

He hailed progress in tourism, foreign direct investment attraction, public investment disbursement, manufacturing and exports in April and over the past four months.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade was asked to review key co妹妹odities, especially oil and gas production, which should be increased by  一- 一. 五 million tonnes while coal mining amounts to  二 million tonnes and the manufacturing and processing industry grows at least  一 三 per cent. Sufficient energy supply must be ensured and  一 二 loss-making projects be dealt with soon.

He noted that the ministry needs to closely track farm produce hygiene and actively partner with the Ministry of Public Security to strictly punish multi-level marketing violations.

The leader required the construction sector to develop a healthy real estate market with a focus on social housing for workers. He also set a tourism sector target of  三0 per cent growth  from last year and  一 五 million foreigners served this year.

The PM said the agricultural sector should ensure its growth of over  三 per cent and strive to earn at least US$ 三 三 billion from exports this year.

Ministries, agencies and localities must accelerate the equitisation of State-owned enterprises, curb the consumption price index below  四 per cent and allocate capital to prioritised fields, including agriculture, small- and medium-sized enterprises, exports, especially disbursing the VNĐ 一00 trillion package designed for high-tech agricultural firms.

Speeding up the economic restructuring in combination with renewing growth model in a practical and effective manner is important to implementing the resolutions set by the National Party Congress and the National Assembly, he said.

On social safety and order, he called for attention to dealing with hotspots, especially in the land issue to ensure legitimate interests of the people, and illegal sand exploitation and deforestation.

The leader asked for continued work to ensure street pavement order and prevent traffic congestions in major urban areas, including Hà Nội and HCM City.

He urged for overseeing national products, especially those with $ 一 billion-plus export value, as well as key transport works. — VNS
